Lab data
Lemon Kush potency: THC and CBD from 29 lab tests
In only 29 state lab tests, a small sample, Lemon Kush flower had a median total THC of 15.53%, with the middle half of results between 14.70% and 17.00%.1 CBD is low, and only 2 of the 29 tests reported individual terpene values, too few for a terpene profile.1
Small sample: only 29 matched tests. Treat the figures on this page as indicative, not definitive.1
THC distribution
Total THC across 29 tests
THC by year
Too few tests per year to show a trend: no year has 20 or more tests (2015: 1, 2018: 2, 2019: 10, 2020: 3, 2022: 12).1
THC by state
| State | Tests | Median THC |
|---|---|---|
| Michigan | 12 | 15.85% |
States with at least 10 tests. Labs, testing rules and sampling differ by state, so compare states with care.1
Terpene profile
Only 2 of the 29 matched tests report individual terpene values, too few for a profile (we chart terpenes reported by at least 10 tests).1
How Lemon Kush compares
Lab-tested THC across 17 well-known strains
How published THC figures compare
Strain databases publish a single figure or a range: Leafly lists 19%, Weedmaps says Lemon Kush often tests "in the 20% range", and AllBud gives 17% in its facts box but "26% THC content" in its description.2,3,4 Wikileaf reports that the lab Analytics 360 measured flower labeled Lemon Kush at 15–26%.5 Seed sellers advertise 18% (Zambeza), 17–20% (Plantation Premium Seeds), 17–26% (United Cannabis Seeds) and 15–25% for Female Seeds’ line at Alchimia.6,7,8,9
In our small sample, 90% of Lemon Kush flower tested below 18.91% and the highest result was 20.42%, so every single-figure claim above sits over nine tenths of the results, and only the lower ends of the ranges overlap them.1 The gap may be real or an artifact of the sample: 22 of the 29 tests come from 2019 and 2022, Michigan (12), Hawaii (7), Washington (7) supply most of them, and different breeders’ plants share the name.1,10
Terpenes cannot be checked either. Leafly lists myrcene as the dominant terpene, followed by pinene and caryophyllene; Weedmaps and AllBud credit the lemon flavor to limonene, as does Humboldt Seed Company for its version.2,3,4,11 Only 2 of the 29 tests reported individual terpene values, so this site shows no terpene profile.1
CBD claims also run above the tests: AllBud lists 1% CBD and United Cannabis Seeds 0–2%, while Plantation Premium Seeds calls its version "Not CBD rich".4,7,8 In our tests, 7 of the 16 tests that reported CBD found none, none reached 1%, and the highest was 0.05%.1

Limits of this data
- Coverage is thin and dated. MI (12), HI (7), WA (7), NV (2), MA (1) supply all 29 tests, 22 of them from 2019 and 2022; the latest is from 2022. Oregon and Rhode Island results carry no product names and could not be matched.
- Washington tests count only when the strain field and the product name both name the strain; 48 Washington flower results with only a generic product name were left out. Hawaii’s results record no lab, so 7 tests have no lab attached.
- Some labs report higher THC than others, so we publish medians and middle ranges rather than maxima. One lab supplied 50.0% of the tests that record a lab (7 labs in total).
- We matched names strictly: 251 results under near-miss names, led by "Lemon Kush Headband" (119 results) and "Super Lemon Kush" (54), are excluded and counted, and duplicate certificates are removed. Terpenes: only 2 of the 29 tests reported individual terpene values (Nevada); Washington, Michigan and Hawaii labs report none.
