What this data cannot tell you

  • Which terpene leads test by test: only 2 of the 29 tests report at least five individual terpenes; the analysis needs 20.1
  • Which strains have a similar terpene mix: needs at least 30 tests with individual terpene values (2 here).1
  • Lab-to-lab differences: needs at least 3 labs with 20 or more tests each.1
  • THC and terpenes together: needs at least 60 tests reporting both.1
  • Change over time: needs at least two years, two or more years apart, with 20 or more tests each.1
  • A particular jar: lab results describe flower sold under the name across 5 states from 2015 to 2022; only a batch’s own certificate of analysis describes that batch.1
  • Effects: these are chemistry measurements. None of them predicts how a strain will feel to a particular person.
